Gaming Community Manager · Discord Moderation & Role Play Operations

I build gaming communities people actually want to stay in.

For the past year I've moderated, structured, and led the volunteer teams behind a 35,000+ member Discord and Role Play community at ChillBase — the whole arc, from event runner to senior administrator.

About

Where this started

I didn't set out to run community operations for 35,000 people — I started by showing up to run events and answer questions in Discord. A year later, I was the one other moderators reported to.

What kept me in this work is the pattern behind it: most conflict in a gaming community isn't really about the rule that got broken, it's about someone feeling unheard. Fix that, and moderation gets a lot easier.

I care about communities that stay healthy under pressure — during a heated Role Play dispute, a busy launch weekend, or just a slow Tuesday when nothing's happening. That's the version of the job I've been doing at ChillBase's Africa Region, and it's the version I want to keep doing.

Experience

The journey

    Helper

Joined ChillBase as a Helper — learning the community's rules, tools, and tone from the ground up.

    Moderator & Faction Supervisor

Promoted to Moderator and given oversight of a Role Play faction as Faction Supervisor.

  3. July 2025

Added Event Runner to the load — planning and hosting the community events that reached the widest member base.

  4. September 2025

    Administrator & Event Admin

Promoted to Administrator and Event Admin — setting the direction for events rather than just running them.

  5. October 2025

    Faction Administrator

Took full ownership of Role Play faction structure and player conduct as Faction Administrator, representing the faction in Admin and Faction Leadership meetings.

  6. April 2026

    Left ChillBase

Stepped away after eleven months — the full arc from Helper to Faction Administrator, and everything that came with running a 35,000+ member community.
